Side chair

Anthroposophical side chair, designed and produced in the Netherlands in Friesland, the Netherlands. The chair carries the name ‘De Vrienschap’, which translates to ‘The Friendship’. It is made out of solid elm wood with great joinery details. The design is most likely unique, finding its roots in the Anthroposophy movement founded by Rudolf Steiner in the early 1900s. Aesthetically this philosophical, spiritual movement took established silhouettes and morphed them into warped geometries often comprised of multifaceted angular surfaces. In good condition with some signs of use as shown in the pictures.
