Dining chairs

Set of 4 stackable dining chairs designed by Gijs Bakker, produced by Castelyn in the Netherlands in the 1970’s. The design idea of Bakker was to reduce the complexity of a chair’s form until a clean image remained. Each chair is made of 6 strips of laminated pine wood of 11 cm wide that were pressed into their final, organic shape.
Two of the chairs carry the makers label underneath. These chairs are in good condition with some signs of wear mainly on the seating zone, as shown in the pictures.
