This oil on canvas painting was made by Gerben Van der Meer and signed on the back by the artist with his name and‘ Herfst ‘05’ (Fall, 2005). The self-taught artist Van der Meer starting painting after a career in education. He was mainly inspired by the Frisia landscapes that he abstracted in his work with colour areas. He was fond of the square shape of paintings, as a manner of limiting the image to the canvas itself. Wooden frame, in good condition.
