Floor lamp

By Carlo Forcolini

Floor lamp ‘Polifemo’, designed by Carlo Forcolini for the production company Artemide in Italy in 1983. The name for this lamp came from Polifemo, a musical opera about the mythical cyclops Polyphemus, written by the Napolitean composer Nicola Porpora. The white ‘cyclops eye’ on top can be tilted to have a different reflection and shade effect. Some laquer loss on the white disk and oxidation on the foot but in decent condition.
